What does the day look like?

Part 1: Establishing Your Starting Point

  • Hour 1 =

    • Baseline assessments, including force profiling, isometric testing, and sport-specific evaluations.

    • Functional range assessment to analyse mobility and movement capacity.

  • Coffee/snack break while our team reviews your results and designs your personalized coaching roadmap.

Part 2: Coaching & Practical Application

  • Hour 2 =

    • Hands-on ‘discovery’ coaching session tailored to your specific needs and the outcomes we identified in Part 1.

    • We’ll guide you through essential movement patterns, strength training, and mobility work to set the foundation for your first training phase.

  • Hour 3 =

    • Bespoke hour of coaching, showing you part of your new program, designed around the equipment you have at your gym.

    • We run through a bespoke example session, explaining training principles, methods and exercise prescription as well as how to setup each exercise within the gym.

    • Finally, we’ll guide you through how to video your exercises to allow us to optimise the feedback loop during the online program.

After your session, you will be eligible to be enrolled into our signature ‘Forever Athlete’ Plan

  • This is an Online training program delivered via our athlete1st app.

  • This is an exclusively online training program, written bespokely for you, based upon the results of your assessment.

  • You will get weekly feedback, looking at your form along with analysis of how your weights/reps are progressing.

  • This also includes ongoing program build & re-design plus quarterly testing & re-analysis sessions included.

  • Session will always be uploaded in 24hrs post any re-analysis sessions.

From December 2022 I decided to take this training more seriously and go into Long Drive. It is all about generating & maximising distance through high club-head & high ball speeds. S&C training is one of the bigger roles in being able to swing a golf club at 140+mph.

Meet the Coaches

Liam Colbon

Founder & Head Coach

Having played golf his whole life, Liam got down to hcp at the age of 4 aged 14. The demands of being an aspiring then professional rugby player then took over. He has helped young aspiring golfers and parents navigate their development, professional players, aspiring long driver professionals and any recreational golfers become more physically prepared to do what they love. Liam will work with Sam to interpret the baseline testing data gathered, then create your bespoke programming and roadmap to success.

Sam runs the ‘Athlete Testing’ here at Athlete 1st. Within the ‘Golf Performance Plan’, he will look at lower & upper body power, strength, mobility & identifying any asymmetries.
